William R. Williams VMD of Tunkhannock died Sunday in Annâs Grove Personal Care Home in Tunkhannock.
He was born in Plymouth on February 5, 1933 son of the late William Garfield and Mary Jones Williams. He was a 1949 Graduate of Tunkhannock High School where he was Valedictorian, and a Graduate of Penn State University and the University of Pennsylvania Veterinarian Medical School.
After graduation he was employed by a local veterinarian and worked as a federal meat inspector for several years. He became active in the raising and research of trout and was one of the first in the country to raise trout under cover. He was the founder and former owner of the Sugar Hollow Trout Hatchery.
He was preceded in death by his wife Ann Passoth. Surviving are sons Dr. Kendal P. Williams of Philadelphia, Dr Daniel C. Williams of Tunkhannock, and Jonathan K. Williams of Ecuador. Brothers, Thomas L. and Neil R. Williams both of Tunkhannock and 4 Grandchildren.
Interment will be in the Williams Family Cemetery in Sugar Hollow. A private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements, by Sheldon-Kukuchka Funeral Home, Inc., 73 West Tioga St., Tunkhannock.
