William Shoemaker

William Leo Shoemaker, 78, of Mehoopany passed away Saturday, December 7, 2024 at Kingston Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. He is preceded in death by his wife, Rosemary (Sands) Shoemaker in 2011.

Born on April 15, 1946 in Meshoppen, he is the son of the late Leo and Hazel (Emmons) Shoemaker.

Bill attended Elk Lake High School, where he laid the foundation for a successful career ahead. He went on to work at Procter and Gamble, spending an impressive 26 years with the company until his retirement in 2001.

He had a passion for hunting, farming, and his dogs which allowed him to embrace the great outdoors. Additionally, he had a love for playing bingo and gambling which provided him with countless memories with family and friends.

He is survived by his children, Timothy Shoemaker and wife Kelly, Jennie Fox and husband Richard, Robbie Shoemaker and wife Lisa, Michelle Spickerman and significant other Jeffery Vaow; grandchildren, Amanda Stanley, Brett and William Spickerman, Jonathan, Joshua, Paul Shoemaker; 10 great-grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, he is preceded in death by sister, Betty Wolfe; brothers, Donald, Glenn, Carl Shoemaker.

Family and friends are invited to attend Bill's funeral service which will be held on Wednesday, December 11, 2024, at 7:00 PM from the Sheldon-Kukuchka Funeral Home, 73 W. Tioga St., Tunkhannock, PA 18657 with Reverend Charles Bishop presiding.

A viewing will be held from 5:00 PM until the time of service on Wednesday.
