William E. LaBar, 54 of Lake Carey, Tunkhannock died on Monday December 21, 2009, after a courageous battle with cancer. Bill was born in Meshoppen on September 21, 1955 son of the late Earl and Grace Miner LaBar.
Bill was a 1973 graduate of Tunkhannock High School, He was the owner of LaBar Contracting for 25 years and more recently BilDon Enterprises, spending long hours in his wood shop. He was a member of the Elk Lake American Legion Post 154. He enjoyed hunting with his family and his dog, Bella. Bill was an avid fisherman and was looking forward to ice fishing this year. His free time was spent enjoying the outdoors at his cabin in Dimock, riding ATVs or joyriding in his jeep.
Surviving is his wife of 33 years Donna Cook LaBar, daughter Monica LaBar and Stephen Hughes of Tunkhannock, sister and her husband Linda and Larry Twordusky, Tunkhannock, several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 11 am from the Sheldon-Kukuchka Funeral Home Inc., 73 W. Tioga St., Tunkhannock with the Rev. Thomas Mott , Russell Hill United Methodist Church and Rev. Joanna Bach. Interment will be in Sunnyside Cemetery, Tunkhannock. Friends may call at the Funeral Home on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9.
