Theodore J. Scranta Theodore J. Scranta, 79, of Tunkhannock died on Tuesday December 22, 2009 after a brief illness.. He was born in Tunkhannock on August 2, 1930. He was married to Geraldine Kingston Scranta. He served in the US Army and worked as a Laborer. Ted was preceded in death by his siblings, Sophie and Joe Puteck, Frank and Andy Scranta and Chet Wiernusz. Surviving are one son: Theodore Scranta of Tunkhannock, PA., three grandchildren: Theodore Scranta Jr. and Leisa Timm both of West Virginia, and Clifford J. Scranta of Mehoopany with whom he was residing, four great-grandchildren, Alyssa Harvey and Morgan Timm both of West Virginia, and Brett and Derek Scranta both of Mehoopany.
