Theodore R. Remetz of Pine Ridge Road, Northmoreland Twp. died at his residence on Tuesday, February 26, 2013. He was born in Luzerne on September 25, 1939 son of the late Frederick and Agnes Ponganis Remetz.
Ted was a 1957 graduate of Tunkhannock High School, for several years he was a milk tester for Aldovin Dairy. He retired from the Proctor Gamble Plant in Mehoopany 1992 after 25 years of service. While working at Proctor Gamble he attended Keystone Electrical School. After retiring he went to work for Ronco in Lake Winola.
He was an active member in the Tunkhannock Ambulance Association and was one of original founders of the Wyoming County Dive Rescue Team. Ted was an avid hunter and fisherman and for several years served as Deputy Game Warden in Wyoming County.
Ted loved the family farm taking care of his horses but most of all he was a loving father, grandfather and great grandfather.
He was preceded in death by a sister and brother in law Carolyn and James Sulzinski. Surviving is his companion Thelma Cochran, sons and Spouses Chris and Susan Traver, Stephen and Lisa Remetz all of Lake Lehman, daughters Melanie and husband Bob Killian of Tunkhannock, Jessica Remetz of Dallas, sister and brother in law Nancy and Charles Kovalchick of Nicholson, 6 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday March 9th at 3 pm from the Sheldon-Kukuchka Funeral Home Inc. 73 W. Tioga St., Tunkhannock. Friends may call at the funeral home from 1 pm until the time of service. In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to the American Cancer Society, 712 S.
