Susan Paige Traver, 50, of Monroe Twp. passed away Thursday, July 25, 2024 at Allied Services Hospice Center, Scranton. She is survived by her husband of 27 years, Brian Traver.
Born on February 27, 1974 in Staten Island, NY, she is the daughter of the late William Halliday and survived by her mother, Mary (Fowler) Halliday.
Susan was a 1992 graduate of Tunkhannock High School. She continued her education at Misericordia University, earning her degree in 1996. She later went on to receive her Master's degree.
In 2001, she embarked on her journey at the Tunkhannock Area School District as a kindergarten teacher and later transitioned to first grade, where she touched the lives of countless young minds with her kindness and wisdom. Her colleagues and students alike remember her as a wonderful first-grade teacher whose impact extended far beyond the classroom.
She found joy in the simple things in life. Susan's infectious love for animals was evident in her cherished pets, including dogs, cats, goats, and chickens. She also enjoyed camping, farming, and gardening.
Susan adored spending time with her family. Her two children meant the world to her and were the light of her life.
She had a deep love for sunflowers and black-eyed Susans, which brightened her days.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by children, David and Lauren Traver; sister, Karen Henderson and husband Seth; nephews and niece.
Family and friends are invited to attend Susan's funeral services which will be held on Wednesday, July 31, 2024 at 10:00 AM from the Bowman's Creek Free Methodist Church, 6470 SR 309, Monroe Twp., PA 18657 with Pastor Lynn Mokwa presiding. Interment will follow in Sunnyside Cemetery, Tunkhannock.
A viewing will be held from 4:00-7:00 PM on Tuesday, July 30, 2024 from the Sheldon-Kukuchka Funeral Home, 73 W. Tioga St., Tunkhannock, PA 18657.
