Summer D. Dimmick, 62, of Tucson, AZ passed away Wednesday, August 7, 2024. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Caroline (Robinson) Dimmick.

Born on September 3, 1961 in Noxen, PA, he is the son of the late John and Dorothy (Brobst) Dimmick. 

Summer was a proud graduate of Tunkhannock High School, where he was also a member of the high school swim team. His early years were marked by the values instilled during his time as a Boy Scout.

His commitment to service became evident when he joined the U.S. Air Force in 1979, embarking on a distinguished 24-year career. Retiring as a Master Sergeant in 2003, Summer was a decorated veteran, recognized for his exemplary dedication and contributions to his country. He received numerous accolades throughout his service, including several Air Force Achievement Medals, the Meritorious Service Medal, and the Air Force Longevity Service Award Ribbon with four bronze oak leaf clusters. His service extended globally, being honored with the Air Force Overseas Long Tour Ribbon and the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal.

Beyond his military service, Summer pursued a successful career in data analyzing.

He had a profound love for art and found joy in hobbies such as fishing, hunting, darts, and woodworking. He thrived on the joy of spending time with his family, making memories that will be cherished by those who knew him. He was an active member of Mehoopany Baptist Church until he embarked on his military journey.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by children, Emily and Edward Dimmick; siblings, Larry, Rusty, John Dimmick, Stefan Dimmick, Autumn Gordon, Spring Oberbeck, Gretchen Miller.

Family and friends are invited to attend Summer’s celebration of life which will be held on Wednesday, October 9, 2024 at 10:00AM from the Mehoopany Baptist Church, 4301 PA-87, Mehoopany, PA 18629. Interment with military honors will be held in Orcutt’s Grove Cemetery, Tunkhannock.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Summer’s memory to the Mehoopany Baptist Church, 4301 PA-87, Mehoopany, PA 18629.
