Shirley Severcool

Shirley Severcool, 90, of Tunkhannock passed away on Sunday August 22, 2021 at the United Methodist Home, Tunkhannock. She was preceded in death by her first husband Arthur Smith in 1983 and second husband Thomas Severcool in 2015. Born in Lemon Township, PA on September 30, 1930 she was the daughter of the late Otto and Mae Avery Harvey. She was a member of the Lemon United Methodist Church, Eastern Star, Odd Fellows, and Rebekahs. She is survived by her sons, Arthur Smith (Beverly), Charles Smith (Linda), Clarence Smith (Doug), Elmer Smith (Alyssa); daughters, Marion Price (John), Jo Ann Grieve (Greg), Arline Sands (Gary), Cynthia Rood (Danny); 18 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren. In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by brother, Emmons Harvey; sisters, Betty Van Ness, Bertha Gramento, and Fannie Hathaway; grandsons, Daniel Price and Casey Smith. The family would like to extend their gratitude to Cyndi O’Malley for the kindness she has shown Shirley over the past several years. Interment will be held privately in Sunnyside Cemetery, Tunkhannock. In lieu of flowers please send donations to United Methodist Homes resident assistance.
