Sarah Lenore Greubel, 92 of Tunkhannock passed away at the Golden Living Center in Tunkhannock December 2, 2011. She was born January 19, 1919 on the family farm in Millville to the late Thomas and Leota Moser McKenna.
Lenore moved to Dunellen, NJ as a young girl where she met and married her husband, Eugene in 1944. They moved to Princeton, NJ, built their own house and had six children. Lenore and her family moved to Tunkhannock in 1966. She was an active Jehovahâs Witness since 1954 and enjoyed talking to people about Godâs Kingdom, the only hope for mankind. Lenore attended the Kingdom Hall of Jehovahâs Witnesses in Tunkhannock. She also enjoyed cooking and spending time with her many friends, children, and grandchildren.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene in 1988, a daughter Dorothy in 1951; three brothers, Thomas of Virginia, Patrick and Robert both of Millville and one sister, June McKenna of Tunkhannock.
Surviving are five children, Donna Goodman of Scranton, Douglas and wife Karen of Berwick, Danielle and husband Clifford Yale of Springville, Doreen and husband Bob Ceccarelli of Tunkhannock and Duane and wife Cheri of Cromwell, Ct. Also five grandchildren; Seth and wife Patty Goodman of Pittston, Garth and wife Erica Goodman of Bolivia, So. America, Ryan and wife Rachel Goodman of Noxen, Daron and wife Jenessa Yale of Lake Winola, and Carrie Yale of Olyphant as well as nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at The Kingdom Hall of Jehovahâs Witnesses in Dallas, PA on Sunday December 18th at 4 pm with Stephen D. Whitney officiating.
