Ruth M. Greenley, of Tunkhannock, died at her home on Thursday, September 29th. She was born in Dallas on February 1, 1924, daughter of the late Floyd B. and Ruth Maude Terry Corby.
Prior to her retirement, she was a housewife and farmer alongside her husband of 70 years, Roy R. Greenley, achieving the “Dairy of Distinction” award. She loved designing and maintaining the flower gardens on the homestead. She was a member of the Tunkhannock Chapter of the DAR, Wyoming County Historical Society, Centermoreland UMC, and enjoyed square dancing with her Roy.
Ruth was preceded in death by a daughter, Nancy Modrzejewski, brothers Oscar, Floyd, Malcolm, and Archie Corby, and sisters Evelyn Galloway and Ferne Kromelbein.
Surviving is a daughter, Linda Harvey Greene of Tunkhannock, brothers William, Walter and Charles Corby, and sisters Harriett Burkholder and Alice Singer; Grandchildren Brian & wife, Sarah, Roy & wife, Loraima, Robert & wife, Alexis, and Megan Harvey, and Tammy Robinson; Great-grandchildren Emma, Elizabeth, Alexander, and Roland Harvey, Annalise Smith, Albert and Candace Robinson, and four great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Monday October 3rd at 11 am from the Sheldon-Kukuchka Funeral Home Inc. 73 W. Tioga St. Tunkhannock with Pastor Joel Byer. Interment will be in Sunnyside Cemetery, Tunkhannock. Friends and family may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 4 to 7 pm.
