Ronald A. Wertman

Ronald A. Wertman of Tunkhannock died Saturday, August 4, 2018 in Hospice of the Sacred Heart in Dunmore. He was born in Montclair, NJ son of the late Norman O. and Myra Klaus Wertman.

Ron was a 1953 graduate of Bloomfield, NJ High School, 1957 graduate of Wheaton College with BS in Business and Economics.  After college Ron was inducted into the Wheaton College Baseball Hall of Fame. He was an Army Veteran obtaining the rank of Sgt.  Prior to his retirement he had been employed by the Proctor and Gamble Co., for over 38 years. He attended the Tunkhannock Baptist Church and was a member of the Tunkhannock Community Bible Church. He loved sports he was an avid golfer and was a member Shadow Brook Golf course for over 40 years.

Surviving is his wife of 58 years Leslie Frey Wertman, son Steven of Suffield, Conn., daughter Donna and Robert King of Shavertown, Pa. grandchildren, Ashleigh Feuerbach, Adam King, Krista Reist, Jenna Gnderle, Alicia Wertman, and great grandson Jaxson King.

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, August 8, at 12 noon from the Community Bible Church with Pastor David Stuckey and Pastor Peter Nelson. Interment with military services will be in Sunnyside Cemetery, Tunkhannock. Visitation will be held at the Church from 10 am to 12 noon.
