Robert H. Cook
Robert Bob H. Cook, fondly known as Cookie, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, July 5, 2015 surrounded by his loving family.
Bob was born in Tunkhannock October 6, 1938, son of the late Raymond Cook and Hazel Wilsey Cook. Bob attended Tunkhannock High School before joining the United States Army where he served in the Korean Conflict. He was employed by Gateway Ford in Tunkhannock as a mechanic for 40 years until his retirement in 2001.
Bob enjoyed tinkering in his garage and offered his mechanic skills to anyone in need. He was at home when he was underneath a car with greasy hands and filthy clothes. Bob loved spending time outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. He had a soft spot in his heart for animals, and was sure to keep treats in full supply for the neighborhood pets. His family was his greatest achievement in life, and his love knew no boundaries.
Surviving are his love and companion Elva Avery, daughters Donna LaBar and Tina Pettis , sons Robert Larry Cook and Richard Cook, step-daughter Renee Foradori; grandchildren Gina, Donna, Kenny, Monica, Jessica, Tommy, Jenny, Marky, Joey, Carly, Maddie, Holly, and Loretta; brothers Donald Cook and Delmar Cook; five great grandchildren, as well as many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday at 4 pm at the Lake Carey Union Chapel, Lake Carey with Mrs. JoAnn Bach officiating. Interment will be at the convenience of the family in Fairview Cemetery, Lake Winola. Family will receive friends at the Lake Carey Chapel on Wednesday from 1 pm until the time of service.
