Raymond L. Sands

Raymond L. Sands of Mehoopany died Thursday at the Golden Living Center in Tunkhannock. He was born in Mehoopany on August 18, 1931 son of the late Gilbert R. and Ruth French Sands. Raymond was a 1948 graduate of Mehoopany High School and had been employed by Sproul Construction in Scranton as a truck driver for over 31 years. Raymond was preceded in death by brothers Donald R. Sands, Gary R. Sands, sisters Ellen S. Miller, Rosemary Shoemaker and Francis Sands. Surviving are sons Raymond Jr., of Mehoopany, , Chris of Meshoppen, Raymond of Falls, daughters Janice Mortimer of Tunkhannock, Sara Taylor of Wyalusing, Phyllis Reed of Falls, Areonna Gorden, of Tunkhannock, Mary Ruth Brown of Centermoreland, brothers Gilbert T. Sands of Tunkhannock, Korah Sands of Centermoreland, sister Ruthann Smith, Lake Alfred, Fla., numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Sunday at 4 PM from the Sheldon-Kukuchka Funeral Home Inc., 73 W. Tioga St., Tunkhannock with the Rev. Charles Bishop. Interment will be in Vaughn Cemetery at the convenience of the Family. Friends may call at the funeral home from 2 pm until the time of service.
