Raymond “Ray Crowfeather” Lybolt, 93, of Ideal, Georgia formerly of Tunkhannock died Saturday, September 1, 2012 in Flint River Hospital in Montezuma, Ga. Ray was born in Larksville on July 6, 1919 son of the late Ray V. and Charlotte M. Hawk Lybolt. Ray was of the Mohawk Nation. He was a 1937 graduate of Tunkhannock High School and served with the United States Navy Sea Bees and a member of the AFL-CIO Chapter 167. During his career in the Construction Industry he traveled throughout United States, Mexico and Canada. Ray was very well educated in Native American History, and its lore, as well as a collector of artifacts that he found in the many places that he traveled and worked. He had a great love of nature and our precious earth. He enjoyed speaking to people, sharing his knowledge and love generously. Ray was a skilled craftsman in creating turquoise and silver jewelry, as well as Chipping Native American arrow points and had numerous skills in many other crafts. He was preceded in death by his wife, Bessie E. Wandall Lybolt, daughter Carla R. Schubert, sons Ray V. Lybolt lll and Kevin Lybolt, brothers Bill, Arden, Harlow and a sister Betty L. Farr. Surviving is a loving daughter, Joanne Lybolt Chiavacci of Pawleys Island, SC, son Harlow C. Lybolt of Waverly NY numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 3 pm from the Sheldon-Kukuchka Funeral Home Inc., 73 W. Tioga St., Tunkhannock with Mr. Jay Longfeather officiating. Interment will be in Sunnyside Cemetery Tunkhannock. Friends may call at the funeral home from 2 pm until the time of service.
