Peter Barletto 86, of Tunkhannock died Tuesday at the Golden Living Center in Tunkhannock.
He was preceded in death by his wife Mildred Long Barletto.
He was born in Nutley, New Jersey on March 11, 1925 son of the late Joseph and Carmella Christana Barletto.
He was a United States Navy Veteran and served in WW II. He was employed by the General Motors Corporation from where he retired. After his retirement he fell in love with the countryside and furthered his education at Penn State with classes in agriculture so he could start raising beef cattle on his farm in Lawton. He also enjoyed hunting. Most of all, his family and friends enjoyed his ingenuity and great sense of humor.
He was preceded in death by his Brother Joseph Barletto.
He is survived by his sons Peter and wife Joan Barletto of Forked River, New Jersey and Steve and wife Linda Barletto, of Meshoppen ., Brother Richard and wife Rosland Barletto, of Nutley, New Jersey, and sister in law Audrey Barletto, of Beachwood, New Jersey. Funeral services will be held on Monday at 10:00 am from the Sheldon-Kukuchka Funeral Home, Inc., 73 West Tioga St. Tunkhannock with Pastor Jean l. Swett. Interment will be in Jersey Hill Cemetery.
