Patricia Jean Johnson
Patricia Jean Johnson, known to her family and friends as Tish, of King George Virginia, formerly of Tunkhannock passed away on Saturday, February 14, 2009 from injuries suffered in an automobile accident.
She was born on December 23, 1953 at home in Lymanville, PA, daughter of Roger and Jean (Hall) Williams of Keiserville, Pa.. She was a 1971 graduate of Tunkhannock High School and attended Barrington College, Rhode Island receiving a BS in Spanish in 1975. She believed in continuing her education, resulting in studying over these past three to four years receiving her Masters in Business Administration from The University of Phoenix in 2008. She trusted in Jesus Christ as her Savior at an early age and was baptized by Pastor Victor Decker in Bowmanâs Creek. As a college student, she went on mission trips to Alaska and Honduras. In more recent years she participated in two mission trips to China, teaching English as a Second Language. She devoted many years to the Boy Scouts because of the influence they had on the lives of young men. As a result of her volunteer work with them, she was one of only twenty-three in the United States to receive the Silver Beaver Award last year. She was employed by URS; EG&G Division, Stafford, VA. She was a part of the MRAP Cougar Support Team. She was a bi-lingual school teacher for many years before working for the government.
She is survived by her husband of 27 years, David Johnson. Two sons: Jonathan and wife ShaVon, of Supply, Va and Mark of King George, VA. Two step-sons: David and wife Darlene, of North Bay, Ontario and Jeff Johnson of Coventry, RI, and five step-grandchildren. Parents Roger and Jean Williams of Keiserville, PA. Brothers: R. Dell and wife Judy Williams of Lymanville, Terry S. Williams of Bardwell and R. Brian and wife Karen Williams of Lymanville. Sister Lori Kim Williams of Keiserville. As well as many nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, February 21 at 10 AM from the Sheldon-Kukuchka Funeral Home, Inc., 73 West Tioga St, Tunkhannock with Pastor Brian Williams, brother of Mrs. Johnson officiating.
