Myrtle G Wyda 78, of Vernon passed into the arms of her loving Savior on Thursday, November 12th at Lakeside Nursing Center. She is survived by her husband of 55 years Albert J. Wyda.
She was born on Corby Hill in Tunkhannock, Pa on November 16, 1930 daughter of the late Chester Sickler and Flossie Corby Sickler.
She attended Hunter School, a one room schoolhouse on Jenks Road.
Myrtle enjoyed reading, gardening, cooking and canning. She loved animals, especially her beloved horses and cats.
Myrtle was a member of the Pilgrim Holiness Church in Tunkhannock for most of her life.
She was preceded in death by her beloved infant grandson Danny Moyer.
She is survived by her brothers Paul, Robert and James Sickler, all of Tunkhannock, Harold Sickler, of Meshoppen, sisters Dorothy Shupp and Sara Greenley, both of Thurston Hollow. Daughter Barbara and son-in-law James Moyer, of Lehman, daughter Susan and son-in-law Scott Robinson, of Vernon, daughter Jean and son-in-law Walter Winters, of Tunkhannock, daughter Sara and son-in-law Jeff Chambers, of Sugar Hollow, daughter Laura and son-in-law Robert Faux , of Vernon, 12 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren, many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 16th at 1:00 PM from the Sheldon-Kukuchka Funeral Home, Inc. 73 West Tioga Street, Tunkhannock. Friends and family may call at the funeral home on Monday morning from 11:00AM to 1:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Endless Mountain Christian Academy.
