Milton C. White, 53, of Tunkhannock, died Thursday afternoon after a long battle with cancer.
Born on Oct. 28, 1957, in Pittston, son of Milton R. and Eleanor Hoover White of Tunkhannock, he was a 1976 graduate of Tunkhannock High School, and he had worked for the Tunkhannock Twp. road crew for the past 30 years. Milton was an avid hunter, fisherman and skier, and there wasn't a day he didn't have his companion, Buck Wheat, at his side. He was a member of the NRA, Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, Moose Lodge 1276, Elks Club, Ducks Unlimited, Wild Turkey Foundation and a former member of the Factoryville Sportsmen's Club. Milton also enjoyed volunteering at the Damon S. Young Memorial Races for a close family friend who also lost his battle with cancer.
He is survived by two brothers, Kenny and wife, Patty, Tunkhannock; and Randy and wife, Bridget, Tunkhannock; a niece, Heather; a nephew, Tyler; and a great-niece, Emma. He was also preceded in death by paternal grandparents, Ralph and Lottie White; and maternal grandparents, Kenneth and Eleanor Hoover.
The funeral will be Monday at 9 a.m. from the Sheldon-Kukuchka Funeral Home Inc., 73 W. Tioga St., Tunkhannock. Friends may call on Sunday, 4 to 6 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to the Damon S.
