Mildred Elizabeth Vieczorek, 95 of Tunkhannock went to be with her Lord and Savior on March 1, 2023, surrounded by her family; her soul took flight from her home of 73 years.
Mildred was born July 10, 1927 at Wilkes Barre General Hospital as the daughter of the late Lulu (Robinson) and Howard Myers of Jenningsville where she resided until her parents moved to Tunkhannock in order that Mildred could attend a school closer to her home.
Mildred attended Tunkhannock area schools where she was soon recognized for her gift as an elocutionist doing readings at school, church, and local functions. Mildred attended school until the birth of her beloved daughter Diana who she felt was one of her greatest blessings. Claiming to be born to be a mother, she gave birth to five sons until her health prevented her from procreation. The woman loved her children above all and would live her life protecting, encouraging, nurturing, and, if need be, defending them with her every breath.
Millie was a lifetime member of the Tunkhannock United Methodist Church, a lover of home and family, and a person who could light up a room with her laughter. She loved life and was content simply sitting on her front porch, watching over various pets, and contemplating the sweetness of life. She strongly believed in the Christian faith and gained peace of mind knowing she would one day be reunited with her loved ones in her heavenly home.
Millie is survived by three sons, Ronald, Reginald, and Judson all of Tunkhannock; many grandchildren, one of which lived with her for many of his childhood years, Steve. Millie was a great-grandmother as well, with one, bearing her name, Millie Vieczorek of Saint Augustine, Florida.
In addition to the loss of the love of her life, husband Steven S Vieczorek, she was preceded in death by three of her six children, Diana Kovalick of Noxen, Steven D Vieczorek, and John E Vieczorek of Tunkhannock; grandson, Randy Vieczorek; daughter-in-law, Sandra Vieczorek. In addition to her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Howard Myers, she was also preceded by a brother, Judson Myers of Wilson, New York.
Family and friends are invited to attend Millie’s funeral services which will be held on Tuesday March 7, 2023 at 11:00 AM from the Tunkhannock Untied Methodist Church, 4 Church St. Tunkhannock, PA 18657 with Reverend Tenny Rupnick presiding.
