Mary Strunk

Mary Lois Strunk, 93, of Tunkhannock passed away on April 11, 2023 at United Methodist Homes Wesley Village Campus. She was preceded in death by her husband David Henry Strunk in 1982.

Born in Elmira, NY on January 1, 1930 she is the daughter of the late Marion and Evelyn Smith Warters.

Mary graduated from Mansfield College with her bachelor's degree. She was member of the Tunkhannock United Methodist Church and served as their past secretary. Prior to her retirement she was the librarian at the Tunkhannock School District.

Mary was above everything else a mother and caregiver. She was quiet by nature but around close friends and family she had a quick wit and a wonderful sense of humor.

She is survived by her sons, David Skip and wife Christina of Shavertown, James, and Robert, both of Tunkhannock, Eric and wife Donna; daughter, Susan Lech and husband Joe of Tunkhannock; grandchildren, Mary, Michael, David, and Ryan, Lindsey Esposito, Joshua Shoemaker, Joe Lech, and Garrett Lech; great grandchildren, Jack and Natalie Esposito, and Althea Nelson.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Olivia Strunk.

Family and friends are invited to attend Mary's funeral service which will be held on Friday April 14, 2023 at 11:00 AM from the Sheldon-Kukuchka Funeral Home, 73 W. Tioga St. Tunkhannock, PA 18657 with Pastor Ernie King presiding. Interment will follow in Sunnyside Cemetery, Tunkhannock.

A viewing will be held from 10:00 AM until them time of service on Friday.
