Marion Bollinger

Marion E. Bollinger, 90, of Tunkhannock passed away Tuesday, February 18, 2025 at home. She was preceded in death by her husband of 34 years, Dean Bollinger in 2014.

Born on January 4, 1935 in Le Raysville, PA, she is the daughter of the late Donald and Doris McCarthy.

She was a graduate of Rush High School and furthered her education by studying at Penn State University. Marion dedicated her professional life to the telecommunications industry, where she made significant contributions until her retirement.

She had a profound appreciation for the beauty of wildlife and nature. She particularly cherished her time spent caring for her beloved rose bushes. Her creative talents extended to knitting and sewing, hobbies that brought her joy. In addition, she was a member of the Biblical Baptist Church.

Marion is survived by son, Patrick Bollinger; daughter, Julie Carvis and husband Tim; sisters, Patricia Wescott and Peggy Harrison; longtime friend, Sandra Melan; 3 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by daughter, Amy Bollinger; sisters, Joyce Sherman and Jeanne Powers; brothers, James and David McCarthy.

Funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family. Interment will be held in Montrose Memorial Cemetery, Montrose.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Marion's memory to the Ronald McDonald House of Scranton, 332 Wheeler Ave, Scranton, PA 18510.
