Marie Evans

Marie Smith Evans went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday afternoon in Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center. She was surrounded by her loving children whom were a comfort to her. Born January 27, 1939 in Sayre she was a daughter of the late Stephen M. and Mary Elizabeth Coolbaugh Smith. She was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Leroy Evans in December 2002, and three brothers, William (Bill) Smith, Wilbur (Pete) Smith and Raymond H. Smith. She is survived by four sons and daughters-in-law, Charles and wife Nina of Falls, William and wife Cathy of Tunkhannock, Jerry and wife Ericka of Tunkhannock, and Joseph and wife Debra of West Pittston; six daughters and sons-in-law Rose Marie Barr and husband Roy of Factoryville, Caroline Keeler and husband Dale of Dalton, Kathleen Fletcher and Bob Hughes of Dalton, Laurie Zavrotny and husband David of Falls, Sally Lukasewicz and husband Timothy of Tunkhannock and Mary Donavan of Falls. She was the grandmother of 29 and great-grandmother of 18. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 11:00 am from the Sheldon-Kukuchka Funeral Home, 73 W. Tioga St. Tunkhannock with Rev. James G. Rugg of the Mill City Assembly of God Church officiating. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery, Lake Winola.
