Marguerite Maggie Cook
Marguerite Maggie Mae Cook, formerly of Tunkhannock peacefully went home to spend eternity with her Lord on Monday September 3, 2014. Maggie was the widow of Francis Cook and beloved mother of Beverly Ann and John Mark Cook. Throughout her life, Maggie relied on the strength, comfort, and joy of serving her Lord at the Bowmans Creek Free Methodist Church and in everyday life. She had been residing in the home of her loving daughter, Beverly, and son-in-law, Seldon Traver for the past 11 years in Greencastle, PA. Her prolonged illness with dementia affected her memory, but never deterred her joyful spirit and smile, which her family and friends will always remember and cherish.
Maggie was born on September 26, 1923, daughter of Sadie and Basil Hayner in Binghamton, New York. She spent her childhood growing up with her siblings (Bert, George, Elton, Donald, Harold, Jerry, James, Florence, Eleanor, Shirley) until marrying Francis, her husband of over 60 years.
Maggie is survived by her 5 grandchildren; Francis and Rick Traver, Dawn (Traver) Johns, Chas and Cory Cook, their spouses, and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She was Auntie to Donna (Hayner) DePue and Dale Hayner, along with several nieces and nephews, all of whom were special to her in their own way.
