Margaret Staskiel

November 22, 1943 — February 10, 2025

Margaret Elizabeth Staskiel, age 81, of Tunkhannock, Pennsylvania, passed away on February 10, 2025, surrounded by her family.

Born on November 22, 1943, in Wilkes-Barre to Andrew and Margaret Kupinewicz, Margaret Elizabeth Staskiel was a woman who found joy in the beauty of the arts, had a keen eye for design and antiques, but above all, cherished her family and the people in her life. She was known for her kindness, grace, and the way she truly listened-making everyone she met feel valued and heard.

Later in life, Margaret fulfilled a dream by opening Jennifer L. Antiques, a charming shop where she shared her passion for art, antiques, and the stories they carried. She had a gift for discovering hidden treasures and took great joy in preserving pieces of history. Whether she was tending to her shop, seeking out rare treasures, or cherishing moments with loved ones, she approached life with a keen curiosity and a deep appreciation for its simple joys.

She will be remembered for her gentle spirit, sharp wit, and the warmth she brought into every room. Her kindness and generous heart left an imprint on everyone who knew her, and her legacy will live on in the memories of those she loved. She is also remembered by her beloved, and very spoiled, stray kitten, Lilly-Sally-Mr. Bibs-Nina-RueRue, who never minded a new name so long as her lap was available for a nap.

She is survived by her devoted life partner and best friend, Robert Costello. She was Mom to her loving daughters, Lori Bogedin and husband, Jerry Bogedin, and Jennifer Staskiel and husband, John Wascovich. She was Grams to her cherished grandson, Ryan Andrew Bogedin. She was Badgie to her beloved grandchildren, Samantha Margaret Vieczorek, Joseph Ronald Vieczorek, Anastasia Bogedin, Alina Bogedin, Tatiana Bogedin, Elena Vieczorek, Taylor Wascovich, and Morgan Wascovich. To her adored great-grandchildren-Avery, Emily, Nellie, Lyla, Brom, and William-she was Gee Gee. She is also survived by extended family members and dear friends who were blessed to have known her.

Margaret was preceded in death by her loving sister, Elizabeth Ann Hall, with whom she shared a lifelong bond filled with family and unwavering love. They were always there for each other through life's joys and challenges.

Funeral services will be held privately.

In lieu of flowers, make a donation to your favorite charity, reach out to a loved one, take someone you have not seen in some time out for lunch, plant a tree, or simply sit in the woods and speak softly to all the souls we have lost. That is what our mom would want.

Arrangements and care entrusted to Sheldon-Kukuchka Funeral Home, 73 W. Tioga St., Tunkhannock, PA 18657.
