Lillian P. Kupstas of Yeager Ave. Dallas died Saturday in the Hospice Unit Geisinger South in Wilkes Barre. She was born in Boston, Massachusetts on March 15, 1923 daughter of the late Henry W. and Mary Agnes McCourt McCusker.
She was a graduate of the Girls High School of Boston and was an active member of St. Thereseâs Church Shavertown. She was a member of the St. Thereseâs Altar and Rosary Society and a former Sunday school teacher and a former member of the church choir. For several years she was an active volunteer for the American Red Cross and the Motherâs Club of Central Catholic High School.
She was preceded in death by her Husband Edward J. Kupstas, son Edward J. Kupstas Jr. Infant daughter Rosemary, brother Harry McCusker and a sister Rosemary Farrell. Surviving are sons and daughter in laws, David and Susan Kupstas of Vernon, Charles and Anne Kupstas of Crofton, Maryland and Thomas and Jamie Kupstas of Annapolis, Maryland. Daughter and son in law Maryanne and Edward Onzik of Shavertown, brother James McCusker of Boston, Massachusetts, sister Margaret Mihalick of Dallas, 12 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 9 am from the Richard H. Disque Funeral Home, 672 Memorial Highway, Dallas with Mass of Christian Burial at St. Thereseâs Church, Shavertown at 10 am. Interment will be in St. Nicholas Cemetery, Shavertown. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 5 to 8. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Geisinger Hospice Unit 100 North Academy Ave., Wilkes-Barre, Pa. 18765 or to the charity of their choice.
