Lillian C. Kupar, formerly of Tunkhannock, passed away Monday, July 19th, in Nazareth, PA. She was born in Windsor, Vt. May 20, 1926 a daughter of the late James J. and Mary F. DeBernardi Calvi.
A graduate of Windsor High School, Lillian trained in Rutland, VT and received her RN license in 1948. She met her husband, Charlie, in the VA hospital in Tupper Lake, NY. Lillian loved helping people in her role as a nurse and volunteered for several charitable organizations. A devout Catholic, Lillian loved her church and family. She was a puzzle fanatic and an avid ice cream eater.
Lillian was preceded in death by her husband Charles, son Stephen, and sisters, Sarah Calvi, Ilene Clark, Nellie Smith, Mary Galvin, and Gloria Heath.
She is survived by her son James Kupar and wife Mary Ann of Evans, GA; daughters, Nancy Kupar-Page and husband David of Parksley VA; Susan Cundiff and husband John of Vero Beach, FL, and Kathryn Taylor and husband Bruce of Tobyhanna PA., nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces nephews and cousins.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday at 11 am from The Church of The Nativity BVM, 99 E. Tioga St., Tunkhannock, PA. Friends may call at the Sheldon-Kukuchka Funeral Home, Inc., 73 W. Tioga St., Tunkhannock, from 9:30 am to 10:30 am Thursday morning. Interment will be in Pieta Cemetery, Tunkhannock.
