Kenneth J. Newell

Kenneth J. Newell, Sr., 83, of Tunkhannock passed away peacefully on October 5, 2021 at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital. Born in Tunkhannock on June 21, 1938 he was the son of the late Herbert J. and Helen M. Bullock Newell. Ken had attended the Tunkhannock Area School District. Then was a proud United States Army Veteran stationed at Fort Jackson South Carolina for 6 years. He was later employed for Joe Keller for many years, Ken also worked for contemporary homes Then was a hardworking man. Ken is survived by his daughters, Betty Rought of Laceyville and Penny Warfle of Tunkhannock; son, Kenneth Newell, Jr. of Tunkhannock; brother, Donald Newell and wife Nancy of Wyalusing; sister, Louise Stottof and husband Douglas of Kentucky; grandchildren, Frankie Rought, Jennifer Bailey and husband Henry, Amanda Travis and husband Fred, Kenneth Newell, II and wife Melody, Tasha Newell, Shaney Newell, Jessica Warfle, Carol Ann Warfle, Kenneth L. Warfle, and Phillip Warfle, Jr.; 20 great grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brother, Richard "Dick" Newell of Lake Winola and granddaughter, Lily.
