Howard L Weitz

Howard L. Weitz Howard L. Weitz of Evergreen Drive, Tunkhannock died Saturday in the Aseracare Hospice unit of the Mid-Valley Hospital in Peckville. He was born in Taylor on February 25, 1935 son of the late Elmer and Esther Mae Heckman Weitz. Howard was a Navy Veteran of the Korean Conflict and prior to his retirement he was employed for 14 years as a Crane Operator for Harris Structural Steel in Plainfield, NY. After moving back to the Scranton area he was employed at the Chamberlain Corporation in Scranton. He was a member of the Moosic American Legion Post 0604. Howard was preceded in death by Brothers Fred Weitz, Elmer Weitz Jr., Sisters Wilma Cavano, Jessie Rock and Esther Wilder. Surviving is his wife of 53 years Irene Korf Weitz, son and daughter- in- law Howard L. and Mary Ann Weitz r., of Avoca, Donald F. of Meshoppen, brother Clifford Wertz of DuPont, 5 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 9;30 am from the Sheldon-Kukuchka Funeral Home Inc. 73 W. Tioga St , Tunkhannock with Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am at the Church of the Nativity B.V.M. in Tunkhannock. Interment will be in Sunnyside Cemetery Tunkhannock.
