Gladys Jones Yarasavage

Gladys Jones Yarasavage 88, of Tunkhannock died Wednesday morning at Tyler Memorial Hospital in Tunkhannock. She is survived by her husband of 61 years Edward Yarasavage. Gladys was born in Osterhout on July 18, 1923 daughter of the late Garfield and Ina Inman Jones. She was a graduate of the Falls -Overfield High School class of 1941. After high school she moved to NYC where she worked during WW II before returning to the Tunkhannock Area where she met her husband Ed they were married April 15, 1950. Gladys loved to travel both here and abroad for many years. She enjoyed spending time between her home in Tunkhannock and her second home in Myrtle Beach. She loved reading, doing puzzles and watching game shows. Gladys was a wonderful grandmother and spent many hours playing cards and board games with her grandchildren. Gladys passed away from a lengthy illness and is now pain free and with the lord. She was an active member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. The family wishes to thank Patsy Robinson, Joyce Mattocks, Sonya Ross-White and Dr. Dennis Mattei for their care and compassion during her illness. She was preceded in death by a grandson Dustin Yarasavage Surviving are her children Dale, and wife Donna, of Tunkhannock, William and wife Marina, of Tunkhannock, Patty Nelson, and husband Bob, of Charlotte NC, John, of Bellefonte, PA, and Jan Cadwallader, and husband K.C., of Ft. Mill, SC.9 grandchildren, Kelly Maher, Cassie Yarasavage, Angi Yarasavage, Nathan Yarasavage, Love Tyler, Alex Nelson, Paige Nelson, Amy Cadwallader and Wesley Cadwallader and 2 great grand daughters, Kora and Ella Tyler. Funeral; services will be held on Saturday at 11am from St. Paul’s Luther Church, Route 6 West, Tunkhannock with Pastor Murray Brindle. Interment will be in Sunnyside Cemetery, Tunkhannock.
