Georgette E. Piper

Georgette (Parry) Piper a guest at the United Methodist Home in Tunkhannock died there on Monday November 26th. She was born in Chester on May 3, 1920 daughter of John Francis Parry and Juliette (Perrey) Parry Ebright of Chester, PA. She was the step-daughter of Harvey Ebright. Georgette was married to the late Francis Howard Piper for 54 years when he died in 1994. They moved to Tunkhannock in 1967 and made that their home. Georgette volunteered as a tutor for R.S.V.P. at St. Michaels School for Boys beginning in 1979. She received the Mary E. Dreisbach Memorial Award for distinguished community service in 1995. She served on the altar guild at St Peters Episcopal Church and was a member of the Tunkhannock Chapter #74 Order of Eastern Star. Surviving is a daughter and son-in-law Faith and Thomas Conklin of Wake Forrest NC, grandson Craig Conklin of Raleigh, NC, granddaughter Cheryl Matthews of Naugatuck CT. Five great grandchildren, Justin and Erika Matthews, Amelia and Piper Conklin, and Savannah Dallin. Funeral services will be held on Friday at 10 am from the Sheldon-Kukuchka Funeral Home, 73 W. Tioga St. Tunkhannock, with the Rev. Laurie Robinson Chaplin of the Tunkhannock United Methodist Home. Interment will be in Sunnyside Cemetery Tunkhannock. There will be no viewing. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be sent to Sacred Heart Hospice, 600 Baltimore Dr., Wilkes-Barre, Pa 18702.
