Ernest Malandri
Ernest Malandri 86 of Springville, PA died Friday at the Golden Living Nursing Home in Tunkhannock. He was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years Elizabeth Crosby Malandri.
Born in New York City on September 5, 1923 son of the late Lawrence and Rose Ferrari Malandri.
He was a veteran of the United States Air Force and United States Army where he earned the Bronze Star at the Battle of the Bulge.
After the service he worked for Proctor and Gamble were he retired after 19 years. He enjoyed working on small engines, stock cars, hunting, fishing and watching movies.
He was preceded in death by his sister Mary Becce.
He is survived by his sons Robert, of Dimmock, and Thomas, of Springville. Daughters Karen Eveland, of Tunkhannock, Robin Way, of Factoryville, Lynn Rhan, of Alabama, Jill Malandri, of Arizona, and Michelle Sanchec, of Virginia. Brother Guido Malandri, of Florida, and sister Lee Zwerdling of Little Neck, N.Y. As well as 20 Grandchildren 12 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Monday at 10:00 AM from the Sheldon-Kukuchka Funeral Home, Inc. 73 West Tioga St. Tunkhannock, Pa with Rev. Paul from the Church of Nativity BVM Tunkhannock. Interment will be in Pieta Cemetery, Tunkhannock. Friends and family may call at the funeral home on Sunday evening from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM.
