Emma Jean Space Scudder, 89, of Tunkhannock, went to be with the lord the evening of March 29, 2017 surrounded by her family at Hospice of the Sacred Heart, Dunmore. Born June 17, 1927 she was the daughter of the late Andrew and Jane Space. She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years Donald Scudder Sr.
She was employed by Bendix in South Montrose for 40 years. A member of Tunkhannock Assembly of God Church and loved spending time with her family. Emma was a wonderful cook and was known for the boxes of cookies she made for her family. She left her legacy behind by sharing many of her recipes with her children and grandchildren.
When she wasn't spending time in Canada fishing with the love of her life you could always find her shopping, especially for shoes, a trait she passed down to her granddaughters.
She was preceded in death by her infant son, Charles Mislevy; sisters Ethel, Pansey and Marie; Brothers Andrew, Robert, Cecil, Harold, and Alfred. Her beloved dog Tipper.
She is survived by her sons; Fred and Bonnie Mislevy, James and Sharon Mislevy, Donald Jr. and Fiancée Amy all of Tunkhannock. Daughters; Cinda and Mark Novitch of Nicholson, Linda and Larry Castornia of Hop Bottom. Grandchildren; Tim and Colleen Mislevy, Michael Mislevy, Melissa and Steve Kuffa, Jason Mislevy, Fred and Heather Hemmerly, Lisa and Ron Truesdale, Mark and Kelly Hemmerly, and Morgan Scudder. Great-grandchildren; Dylan and Aiden Mislevy, Lincoln Truesdale, Gianna Hemmerly, Chevy Scudder, and Rayia Blaisure. Sisters; Mary Jane White. Several Nieces and Nephews.
Funeral services will be Monday April 3, 2017 at 11am from the Sheldon-Kukuchka Funeral Home Inc. 73 W. Tioga St. Tunkhannock, PA. with Pastor Rick Womer presiding. Interment in Sunnyside Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday April 2, 2017 from 2PM-4PM at the funeral home. Memorial contributions can be made to the Tunkhannock Assembly of God.
