Emily S. Kocian

Emily Kocian, 95, of Highland Park Senior Living, Wilkes-Barre Pa passed away on Tuesday January 25, 2022. Born on March 8, 1926 in Kingston PA she was the daughter of the late Sylvia and Stanley Kocian. Emily was a longtime resident of Miami Florida where she worked for Bell Telephone as a telephone operator. In addition, she also worked for Bell Telephone in Mt. Holly New Jersey. She was employed for over 40 years and counts her role as a Union Representative as one of her many accomplishments. She was also a lifelong devout Catholic and, in addition to her faith, she loved traveling, crossword puzzles, and being with family playing cards and other games, much to her enjoyment. Emily was also an avid reader. She is survived by a sister, Delores Kapolka, of Tunkhannock; many nieces, nephews as well as grand-nieces and nephews. Emily, aka “Auntie Em” will be greatly missed, especially by those who knew her best. Family and friends are invited to attend Emily’s Mass of Christian Burial which will be held on Wednesday February 2, 2022 at 12:00 PM from St. Frances Cabrini Church, 585 Mt Olivet Rd, Wyoming, PA 18644 to be celebrated by Reverend James J. Paisley, pastor. Interment will be held in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. A viewing will be held from 10:00-11:00 AM on Wednesday at the Sheldon-Kukuchka Funeral Home, Inc. 73 W. Tioga St. Tunkhannock, PA 18657.
