Emerson F. Sands, Jr.

Emerson F. Sands "Fuzzy", Jr. 82, of Montrose passed away Tuesday February 21, 2023 at his home. He was preceded in death by his wife Nancy Vaow in 2007. 

Born on Novembers 5, 1940 he was the son of the late Emerson, Sr. and Florence Durland Sands Olmstead.

Emerson retired from Interstate Safety in 1996 and loved spending his time hunting, fishing, and woodworking with his wife.

He is survived by daughters, Wendy Taylor and husband Bill and Holly Askew and Donald Smith; son, Emerson Sands, III; brothers, Stanley and James Sands, and Larry Olmstead; sisters, Shirley Houser and Donna Etheridge; ten grandchildren; nineteen great grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by son, Randy Sands; brothers, Robert and Wayne Sands and David and Jack Olmstead; grandson, Chaz Hillyard; granddaughter, Alicia Askew. 

Family and friends are invited to Emerson's funeral service which will be held on Monday February 27, 2023 at 11:00 AM from the Sheldon-Kukuchka Funeral Home, 73 W. Tioga St. Tunkhannock, PA 18657 with Pastor Charles Bishop, presiding. Interment will follow in Perrins Marsh Cemetery, Centermorland.

A viewing will be held from 10:00 AM until the time of service on Monday.
