Elbert Leonard Dornblazer of Centermoreland took his final journey into rest on Thursday, May 22, 2008 while he slept.
He was preceded in death by his wife Lois Sickler.
Elbert was born in Centermoreland in his childhood home on April 16, 1914. He was the son of the late Woodward L. and Grace A. Weaver Dornblazer.
Before his retirement, he worked for Sordoni Construction Co. as an electrician in the 1930âs, and also Sun Ship and Dry Dock in Chester, PA., as a welder/foreman during war time. He was an all around handyman who enjoyed fixing all types of appliances. During the course of his life he had many jobs and talents, but his passion was farming, passed down for generations. He was well known in the community. We will remember him for his great sense of humor, kind nature, and willingness to help a friend in need. Mostly we will remember him as a loving father and friend.
He is survived by his loving and devoted son Robert G. Dornblazer, of Tunkhannock; stepchildren David Harris, of Himsdale, N.Y. and Janice A. Miller of Clifford, PA., and their children. And finally, his friend and companion, his faithful and loving dog Duke.
Funeral Services will be held Thursday, May 29 at 11:00 am from the Sheldon-Kukuchka Funeral Home, Inc., 73 West Tioga St., Tunkhannock, PA., with Pastor Drew Cottle of the Centermoreland United Methodist Church presiding. Interment will be in Perrins-Marsh Cemetery. Friends and family may call at the funeral home Wednesday evening, May 28 from 7 â 9 pm.
