Edmund J. Kocian of Hollywood, Fla. on November 23, 2010 in Memorial Regional Hospital in Hollywood Fla. formerly of Larksville. He was born in Duryea on July 29, 1921 son of the late Stanley Kocian and Sylvia Kalinowski Kocian Miller and Step son of Patrick Miller.
Edmund was a Navy Veteran of WW2 and a graduate of Loyola University in Chicago, Illinois. Prior to his retirement he was the owner of E. J. Provisions in Hollywood, Fl. From 1955 to 1991. He was an active member in St. Maryâs Cathedral in Miami and on December 8, 1992 he received the Primum Regnum Dei metal for outstanding service to the church.
Surviving are Sisterâs Emily Kocian and Delores Kapolka both of Tunkhannock. Nieces and nephews. A mass of Christian burial was held in St. Maryâs Cathedral in Miami where he was the last of the original choir singers. The Rite of Interment will be held in Mt. Olivet Chapel Carverton on Friday at 11am with Fr. Vincent Daug. Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery Carverton. Arrangements, by Sheldon-Kukuchka Funeral Home Inc., 73 W. Tioga St., Tunkhannock.
