Doris M. Stang

Doris M. Stang, 89, of Meshoppen passed away Wednesday, February 3, 2021 at the Tunkhannock United Methodist Homes. She was preceded in death by her husband, William M. Stang, Jr. in 2016. Born in Dimock on December 22, 1931 she was the daughter of the late Ralph and Bessie Ace Sherwood. Doris was a member of the Lemon United Methodist Church, Lemon Ladies Aid, and the Rebekahs. She was a longtime member of the Republican Woman’s Committee. She enjoyed crocheting and knitting as well as playing bingo at the Methodist Home. Doris is survived by her sons, Milton, William and wife Rosana, Dennis and wife Cindy; daughter, Rebecca Shappell and husband Fred; ten grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, Don Sherwood; sisters, Jean Arner, Marge Lamoreaux, and Arlene Sickler. The family would like to thank the staff at the Methodist Manor and Hospice of the Sacred Heart for their excellent care and support. Funeral services will be held in the spring at Sunnyside Cemetery. Arrangements and care entrusted to Sheldon-Kukuchka Funeral Home, Inc., 73 W. Tioga St. Tunkhannock, PA 18657.
