Donald G. Marabell

Donald G. Marabell Sr. of Tunkhannock died at his home on Sunday, March 2, 2014, He was born in Tunkhannock on February 29, 1944 son of the late Theodore and Ruth Steinrock Marabell. Don was a graduate of Tunkhannock High School Class of 1962. He was an Air Force Veteran serving in the Vietnam and was the owner operator of an over the road tractor trailer. He enjoyed sports especially golf and was an avid baseball fan who enjoyed rooting for the New York Yankees. Donald was a member of the 1956 Tunkhannock Little League Allstar team that advanced to Little League World Series in Williamsport. He played third base on the team. Don also enjoyed fishing trips to Canada (Dorvell Lodge) with his dad, mom, son’s, daughter and nephews. Preceding him in death were brothers Lewis and Joseph Marabell, Surviving are sons Donald G. Marabell Jr., Dallas Texas, Jason P Marabell, East Stroudsburg, daughter Erin L. Marabell, Ithaca, New York, brother Theodore Marabell, Tunkhannock, sister Marie Marcy of Scranton, grandchildren, Sadie Rose Marabell, Paul Hunter Marabell, Jason Paul Marabell Jr. and Brady James Marabell and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held on Sunday at 4 pm from the Sheldon-Kukuchka Funeral Home Inc., 73 W. Tioga St., Tunkhannock with Pastor Peter Geschwinder of the Tunkhannock United Methodist Church.
