Donald Gacha

Donald L. Gacha, 77, of Meshoppen passed away Sunday, June 16, 2024 at his home. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Carol (Shoemaker) Gacha.

Born on December 11, 1946 in Meshoppen, to the late Joseph and Anne (Truesdale) Gacha. Donald was a 1964 graduate of Elk Lake High School.

He began his career at De Laval Turbine in NJ before being employed by Procter and Gamble where he worked diligently from 1975 until his retirement in 1997. He later worked at Gay's True Value until September of 2023.

Donald was an avid fan of the New York Mets and Buffalo Bills. He loved spending time golfing, hunting, and fishing. Some of his greatest joys were time spent with his family and the time he spent coaching and supporting community sports.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Lori Figorski (Wayne), Tammy Nudo, and Michael Gacha (Michelle); grandchildren, Bryan, Tyler, Danielle, and Casey Gacha, Stephanie Figorski, Alisha and Amanda Nudo; brothers, Joseph and Gerald Gacha; several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his sister, Sharon Altemose; brothers, John and Ronald Gacha.

Interment will be held in St. Joachim's Cemetery, Meshoppen, privately at the convenience of the family.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Compassionate Care Hospice, especially Bobbi Jo and Jackie.
