David Comly, 74, of Springville Twp. died unexpectedly on Sunday September 28th at Tyler Memorial Hospital in Tunkhannock. He is survived by his wife of 49 years Jeanne MacMillan Comly.
He was born in Philadelphia on April 22, 1940, son of the late John and Alice Starkey Comly. David served in the United States Air Force and was Mathematics teacher and Guidance Counselor for 34 years in the Cheltenham and Council Rock School Districts. He was Ruling Elder at the Doylestown Presbyterian Church. He was an active member of the church choirs at the Doylestown Presbyterian Church and the First Presbyterian Church of Clarks Summit. David was also very involved in the Endless Mountains Barbershop Chorus as well as a member of the Barbershop Quartet Vocal Accord. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
He is survived by his sons Peter and wife Eliza, of Springville; Stephen and wife Erin, of Millville; brother John Jr. and wife Linda, of Brewster, Massachusetts; grandchildren Isabel, Amelia, and Anna, of Springville; and Lauren, Ian, and Margaret, of Millville.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday October 4th at 11:00 AM with gathering of friends and family at 10:00 AM until the time of the service. Services will be at the First Presbyterian Church of Clark Summit with Pastor William Carter officiating.
