Corey R. Comstock, of Mehoopany, died Saturday, August 18th, at home. He was a son of the late Evelyn L. (Kiesinger) and Howard C. Comstock. Born in Meshoppen on February 25, 1947, he was a lifelong resident of Mehoopany.
Corey was a graduate of Tunkhannock Area High School and Mansfield University and worked for the Milnes Company of Tunkhannock for most of his career. Along with his father, Corey volunteered for many years with the FWM ambulance company and participated in community events in Mehoopany. He loved the outdoors, especially hunting, fishing, and canoeing or kayaking. He enjoyed working in the garden and especially loved playing with his grandsons and taking them fishing or teaching them outdoor skills.
He is survived by four children of whom he was most proud: Corey J. Comstock and his wife, Hitomi, of Mehoopany; Wynne Comstock Marabell and her husband Jason, of East Stroudsburg; Steven R. Comstock and his girlfriend Dana George, of Mehoopany; and Emmie Comstock, of Utica, New York. He is also survived by three grandsons, Jason and Brady Marabell and Corey K. Comstock; a brother, Howard W.; two sisters, Jane Miller and her husband Ken, and Kay Tunnicliff and her husband Sevelon; as well as nieces, a nephew, aunts, cousins, and many good friends.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 10 am from the Sheldon-Kukuchka Funeral Home, 73 W. Tioga St., Tunkhannock with Pastor Peter F. Geschwinder of the Tunkhannock United Methodist Church presiding. Interment will be in Vaughn Cemetery, Mehoopany. Friend and family may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 6 â 8 pm.
