Carolyn M. Pomeren

Carolyn M. Pomeren, 74, Tunkhannock died on Sunday October 31, 2010 in the Mercy Tyler Hospital in Tunkhannock. She was born in Swoyersville, PA on March 8, 1930, daughter of the late Leonard and Ann Oravec Hovanec. She was a graduate of Swoyersville High School and the Wilkes-Barre Business School. Prior to retirement she was employed as a Sales Clerk for 22 years at the Lerner Shop at the Wyoming Valley Mall, and part time at Balester Optical in Wilkes-Barre. Carolyn was preceded in death by her husband Martin Pomeren Jr. and sister, Nancy Dean. Surviving are three daughters: Anne Sadler of Tunkhannock, Carol Ann Pomeren of Nashville, TN, and Mary Ann Pomeren of Forty Fort; one granddaughter Angel Ann Halchek of Nanticoke and two great-granddaughters, Savannah and Laci Halchek both of Nanticoke. A private funeral service will be held at the convenience of the family from the Sheldon-Kukuchka Funeral Home Inc., 73 W. Tioga St., Tunkhannock.
