Carol Scranta

Carol Scranta, 68, of Tunkhannock passed away Sunday, February 23, 2025 at home.

Born on June 15, 1956 in Johnson City, NY, she is the daughter of the late Francis and Evelyn (Giberson) Scranta.

She was a 1974 graduate of Tunkhannock High School. Carol is remembered for her unwavering dedication as a custodian at Tunkhannock Area High School, where she contributed significantly to the well-being of both students and staff.

In addition to her professional life, Carol was a devoted homemaker and caregiver, taking great pride in her family. Her role as a grandmother brought her immense joy, and she cherished the moments spent with her grandchildren and beloved dogs.

Carol had a passion for the great outdoors, often found fishing or hunting. Her love for birds also reflected her deep appreciation for nature. She was known for enjoying her quiet moments, often found sipping black coffee while listening to the timeless tunes of Johnny Cash.

She is survived by sons, Thomas Wilson, Michael Wilson, Nicholas Wilson; brothers, Steve and Bernie Scranta; sisters, Josie Sands, Agnes Harris; 7 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by brother, Frank Scranta, Jr.

As per Carol's wishes there will be no funeral services.
