Bernard Kmieciak, 79, of Kingston passed away Saturday, November 11, 2023 at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital
Born on November 13, 1943 in Wilkes-Barre, he is the son of the late Brinley and Lottie (Swartz) Kmieciak.
Bernie was a graduate of Hanover High School. He served in the United States Marine Corps during the Cuban missile crisis, displaying bravery and commitment to protect his fellow countrymen. His military service exemplified his selflessness and willingness to sacrifice for the greater good.
He was employed by Procter and Gamble until his retirement in 1999. Even after retiring from Procter and Gamble, Bernie found fulfillment as a newspaper carrier for the Times Leader for many years.
Bernie's life was marked by devotion and love for his family. Spending time with his loved ones brought him immense joy. He treasured every moment shared with them, creating lasting memories that will forever be cherished.
Aside from his dedication to family, Bernie possessed a deep affection for dogs. Their companionship brought him immense comfort and happiness throughout his life.
He is survived by sons, Michael Kmieciak and wife Lisa, Jeff Kmieciak, Andrew Kmieciak and wife Ashley; daughter, Alysha Micklo and husband Josh; step-son, Alex Kuhn; step-daughter, Arlene Price and husband Matt; sister, Dorothy Palmer and husband Roger, several grandchildren.
Family and friends are invited to attend Bernard's funeral service which will be held on Thursday, November 16, 2023 at 5:00PM with full military honors from the Sheldon-Kukuchka Funeral Home, 73 W. Tioga St., Tunkhannock, PA 18657 with Pastor Kurt Goglin presiding.
A viewing will be held from 3:00PM until the time of service on Thursday.
