Beatrice Mae Pangonis
Beatrice Mae Pangonis of Meshoppen, passed away on July 7, 2014 at the home of her daughter. She was born May 20, 1930 in Dushore daughter of the late Mary Pelot Steafather Dempsey and LaRue Steafather of Dushore.
Beatrice was a very loving and giving person. She was a fantastic cook and had the most beautiful handwriting. She worked for over 40 years retiring in 1993 from Bendix Allied Signal and the Honeywell Co in South Montrose where she did any job that needed to be done such as an assembler, inspector, expeditor, and shipper. She was a great mom, grandmother, and great-grandmother and will be missed by all. Beatrice was a member of the Church of the Nativity BVM in Tunkhannock and the Ladies Auxiliary of the Mildred American Legion.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Joseph J. Pangonis whom she lovingly referred to as My Joe. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Patricia Crossman, who died in June of this year.
Surviving is a daughter and son-in-law, Mary and Jerry Stroka of Tunkhannock, son-in-law Bob Crossman of Hayden Lake, Idaho, a sister Joyce Hale and husband Gary of Beaumont CA, granddaughters Jennifer Stroka Cobb and husband Jason of Stow Massachusetts, Christine Stroka Butler and husband Arthur of Roaring Brook Township, PA, grandsons: Thomas Stroka and wife Kimberly of Crofton, MD, and Michael Stroka of Philadelphia; great-granddaughter Gabriella Stroka and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 9 am from the Sheldon-Kukuchka Funeral Home, 73 W. Tioga St., Tunkhannock with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am at the Church of the Nativity BVM, in Tunkhannock, PA. Interment will be in Pieta Cemetery in Tunkhannock.
