Andrew J. Jurista Andrew J. Jurista of Tunkhannock died Thursday, November 22 in the Hospice Unit of Geisinger South in Wilkes Barre. Andy was born in Eaton Twp. on August 8, 1930 son of the late Edward and Mary Gajdica Jurista. At the age of 17 Andy enlisted with the army and served during the Korean Conflict. Prior to his retirement he was employed as a mechanic for the Turrell Motor Company and the Wyco Supply Company in Tunkhannock. Andy was married to Betty Lou Myers. She was a longtime friend and was an angel at his time of need. Andrew was also married to Shirley Kibler for a period in his life. He was preceded in death by brothers Joseph, Edward, Michael Jurista and a sister Antoinette Kristunas. Surviving are sons and their wife’s Mark and Pamela of Springville, Danny and Karen of Mountaintop. Brothers George and John of Tunkhannock, Thomas of Silver Lake, sisters Mary Kuffa of Tunkhannock, Helen Sharp of Florida, grandchildren Mark Jurista Jr. and wife Mariana, Rikki and husband Steve Hyjurick, great grandchildren Molly and Lukas. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Arrangements by the Sheldon-Kukuchka Funeral Home Inc., 73c W. Tioga St., Tunkhannock.
